5 reasons why we want to have artificial grass
When we moved into our house 13 years ago, the garden was well kept with shrubs and flowers. There was even a little birdhouse in the corner of the garden. One dog and two children later, it’s safe to say that our garden is now a little worse for wear. The lawn is uneven from when we had our greyhound who would run up and down trying to catch squirrels. It is also rather patchy because we have a huge 10 ft trampoline and the space that occupies means that area doesn’t get any sun. Not to mention the area where the boys play football.
To put it simply, our lawn is in dire need of some TLC which is why we want to put artificial grass down.
Here are just some of the reasons why we think artificial grass would be beneficial.
Low maintenance
Laying down artificial grass would mean there would be no need to treat or mow the lawn and no weeds to dig up either, making it low maintenance. Our garden is 90ft long so without having to worry about tending to the lawn would mean the garden is a lot easier to upkeep.
Saves money
Although we’d have an initial outlay to lay down the artificial grass, in the long run, we would save money on lawnmowers, electricity, lawn feeders and water too.
Allergy-free
M suffers from hayfever over the summer months, having artificial grass means no pollen and no pollen means he can play happily in the garden without an allergy flare-up!
No grass stains!
I’ve lost count of the number of times I have tried to get grass stains out of the boy’s trousers from playing football outside. This would no longer be a problem with artificial grass as its synthetic and is also UV protected too. There would also be no muddy footprints coming through the house.
Looks good all year round
Come rain or shine, the lawn will still look great as artificial grass doesn’t fade in sunlight and stays green all year round. There would no longer be uneven patches of grass to contend with and you can still enjoy the garden even if there has been a bit of rain.
