How do dancing skills help your modelling career?

Dancers who’ve always wanted to pursue a career in the ever-changing world of fashion have now more chances than ever. As well as the art of fashion, dancing skills are also considered by many people to be a spectacular form of art. Alike fashion, dancing allows people to freely express themselves when the words are insufficient. The art of dancing has always brought people similar experiences like the joy we feel over a newly discovered love, the determination we have in the face of a great sorrow of misfortune and the passionate fire of our young souls; these have never been expressed more abundantly than through the art of dance.

As always, dancing is the medium through which individuals show the world who they really are and who they can be as well as the remarkable world of fashion. This synergy between fashion and dance is a much-wanted skill many models are requested to master in the last few years.

 Training is Essential

If you’ve always dreamed of wearing the latest Alexander McQueen collections while showing off your best dances move the waiting has finally come to an end. As you’ve probably noticed in the last New York Fashion Week, some of the models are clearly moving more gracefully than others. Why? Because the fashion industry keeps expanding and becomes even more competitive, new attitudes and skills are demanded. Some of the best-noted models nowadays are known to have serious dance backgrounds which makes them even more conspicuous in the eyes of the connoisseurs. Meanwhile, as many famous fashion magazines pages’ attest, experienced dancers are influencing the world of fashion in the most unexpected ways.

For instance, some of the best models from Coco Rocha are to be a great example of how dance perfectly emulates the world of fashion. Mrs Rocha an 18, former ballet dancer, intended to become one of the best professional dancers in the world until she was discovered at a dance competition in the British Columbia.

As a dancer, Mrs Rocha had absolutely no training regarding whatever meant modelling or fashion. Such examples offered dancers from everywhere hope and determination to mix up these extremely appealing arts.

Dancing as a Skill

As stated by Carlos Ojeda, a model manager at the Elite, dancing is definitely a new wanted skill in the world of fashion. In order to compete, models have to be perfect from every point of view. That means that new all the Elite models are required to train with a movement coach in order to attain to much-wanted skills and develop stylized poses.

Another Woman Management representative, Chris Gay, stated that” models with dancing skills have the biggest advantage. Whatever happens in the world of fashion is now moving any existing boundary in terms of photography, evolving in something even more otherworldly. Not everything is about the clothes, but the story behind them. There is often a narrative behind all these creations and models with dancing skills perfectly understand how to convey a story.

Dancers will always know how to vividly present those creations. Certainly, if you rely on your family’s support, strictly judge and choreographer and there’s something that naturally draws you in the world of fashion there is nothing else that can stop you from pursuing your dream. Dancers give meaning to the clothes they wear, and when it comes to photography they always know how to maintain a certain posture, use focus and even convey a personality  that cannot be obtained from other models, gymnasts or athletes.

As mentioned by many famous fashion magazines, dancing and fashion have unexpectedly gone hand in hand, creating new meanings and experiences through the most unexpected ways.

Motivates You to Aim Higher

Being a dance means you already have a pun intended at every acting or modelling audition. Multitalented people have always been preferred when it comes to entertainment no matter the age, gender or size. Dancing has always been preferred in every industry because it’s movement. Movement, expression and posture matter more than you believe. Using such skills to aim higher has never been easier. For instance, famous dancer-actress Logan Hassel agreed on the idea that her dancing skills motivated and helped her to act in her gig, “Fuller House” a recent Netflix series. She was audited as a part of an acting call, but her character is part of a dance team.

Logan Hassel explained how having multiple talents and skills on a resume, increases your chances to be a stronger candidate. She stated that her dancing skills motivated her to aim higher and become a better actor, and like every great actor, having dancing skills can help you convey stories of our entire life without words. Through dance, we end up learning things faster and accepting improvements right away, a work ethic that many film directors appreciate.

For many great actors, dancing has been a great aid in the non-dance industry. However, despite the challenges many former dancers pursue in other fields, having such skills can help you become a better dancer and an overall performer.

As mentioned by many fashion brands, dancing has come as a natural extension for fashion, providing new meaning and alluring images. Thus, no matter where you find yourself at the moment, if you’re planning to pursue a career in modelling using your dancing skills this is now possible and extremely demanded. Dancing is there to express those hard feelings, and show how deep and powerful they really are. Through dancing, the world of fashion has rapidly gained a new meaning, has become even more alluring than it was since models can give a new extension to those creations.

Fashion and dancing work hand in hand because they can easily express many layers of personality and talents, in such a way people never saw before. Thus, those who’ve attained such amazing skills and are naturally drawn by the world of fashion can bring effortless experiences in the fashion and movie industry.
