Datetheuk.com review: the rumour vs. the facts

Datetheuk.com is one of the dating sites that don’t make you regret if you never used them. However, there are some options that may be interesting to you. Let’s take a closer look at this site.

It never hurts to use the free trial and this site offers it too. Wait it’s not actually free, but everyone can afford £3.48. You should keep in mind there are only 2000 of active users, and just 1/6 of them are women. Not even a half! Usually, Cupid Networks presents very promising sites with a big database of girls but this time they failed. Some time ago, Datetheuk claimed it contained 3.5 millions of profiles while now it works with technical problems and is almost empty. It isn’t an international site. The geography of Datetheuk is limited by England, Scotland, and Wales, so if you don’t plan to travel there, it makes no sense for you to join.

But if you do, be ready to be attacked with the winks and letters from amazing ladies who seem to crave your attention. Once you pay the typical price of £27.99 for 1-month membership though, they all disappear from your horizon. There are some real and stable female users though but they stay single for months and years so it makes you wonder why. Anyway, 3 months membership costs £63.97 and 6 months membership costs £83.96. When there were thousands of female profiles, it was reasonable to pay for 6 months at once as it automatically led you to the “Love guarantee option”: the prolongation of your membership for the next 6 months if you’re still single! The Platinum membership is more expensive than Gold membership but it’s “all-inclusive” and setting no limits for your communication.

During your almost-free trial, you can try the majority of options available for paid members. Advanced search, viewing private photos, the recommended list of matches, using the chatroom are among them. You can even search by a postal code finding the closest woman. You can exchange letters with the girls only after buying the membership though. The rate of the site is pretty low now and only Datetheuk calls itself “the most fascinating in the UK”. In fact, there are much bigger and more professional dating sites like mysinglefriend.com. It proves once again this kind of business is very dynamic and tricky so the owners should update their skills and options quite regularly not to lose the track.

The site’s safety is on a decent level though and you can be sure about the confidentiality of your correspondence or profile details. The site is classical, it means the features are for straight partners of approximately same age, and the motivation of meeting someone isn’t financial. People meet there for flirting and relationships.

Datetheuk provides tips, recommendations, researches, articles, and statistics that help you to date more efficiently, depending on your goal: it can the bigger quantity of the women you meet or the higher quality of them. The site also offers a unique photo editor helping you to represent yourself better. Personal videos also can be added to the profiles. The interface is quite nice-looking and easy to navigate. Not many people seek for marriage on Datetheuk but some of them do. There aren’t many success stories though especially lately, which explains the low rate of the site. It is noticed though that due to the “speaking name” of the site, people join it when they move to the UK and want their old friends to find them easily, or try to attract new buddies. So, it’s still useful for someone but it’s not that much about “dating” anymore.

There were many complaints from the real users including the ones addressed to the official organizations. People claimed they received enormous attention from females on Datetheuk during the cheap trial even placing the minimum info to their profile. But once they paid for a full membership, the interest faded away. The same is happening on other Cupid sites. The owners of the site rejected such accusations though and provided all the proofs that their pricing politics is clear.

Anyway, the noise around Datetheuk.com resulted in a dramatic decrease of the members’ quantity and the termination of basic services. This noise wasn’t a full-size scandal but the reputation is a very delicate thing. Plus, the “welcoming” scam-bots on the site are a sad reality. Although the administrators have improved their anti-scam policy and added some new innovative options to its interface, Datetheuk turned to the “rarely visited” kind of site. The competition is too big and the hottest dating sites are constantly raising their influence. Not to mention that international dating is growing big nowadays and UK men don’t mind meeting a Chinese or Ukrainian chick instead of a “cold” local woman so it’s a global issue. Let’s say the popularity of the site changed a lot during its existence (17 years on the market). It’s only logical that the owners didn’t give up and created a few less massive dating sites in order to regenerate their business.

The conclusion: Datetheuk isn’t worthy of your efforts and money unless you’re desperate to urgently find just any female neighbor (by the postal code… remember?) to spend your boring British evening with. If that is your case, use the almost-free trial only and don’t believe any welcoming letters from the hundreds of enchanted beauties. Those are the virtual ghosts. Mind your goal and keep on contacting only real-looking females that live in the neighbourhood. Maybe you’ll be the exception and your hunt on Datetheuk.com will be the most successful. After all, they can finally overcome their own mistakes and fix the situation returning to the former fame and popularity.
