4K Resolution - Technology at its peaks

4K is one of the most significant features popular nowadays and is widely employed on a large basis in commercial digital cinema. It refers to high definition resolutions and is twice as powerful as a line resolution. If compared, it is four times powerful than the pixel resolutions. 4K is now officially associated with consumer products such as ultra HD and is also referred to as Ultra High Definition.

The feature, which makes 4K more useful than the other competitive technologies, is that it can be used with larger TV screens as well as video projectors. 4K provides more detailed visible images than 1080p. Up to 80-inches or so, 1080p looks great and proves good for larger screen sizes. However, 4K delivers a better image than 1080 for those large screens.

Nowadays, the popular 3D TVs and Video projectors, which are currently widely in use, employ the Passive Polarized Glasses method of viewing. The resolution of the resultant 3D image is cut to 540p for each eye, being half of 1080p resolution. Comparatively, the same TV displays a 2D image in 1080p resolution. However, 3D image can be displayed with 1080p resolution for each eye if 4K resolution panel is employed. The result will be viewing 4K resolution on the same TV.

However, it should be kept in mind that opposition to its requirement, a very little source material is available for the consumer market, which is actually in 4K resolution and none from a disc or transmission. It is immensely important that TV video projector has to upscale 3D or 2D signal from those sources to the desired 4K resolution.

An important and interesting point to note is that Blu-ray Discs have the capability to accommodate 4K resolution content but it will require additional disc layers for a full-length movie. Besides, you also have to buy a new player as current Blu-ray disc players would most probably, not been able to play back native 4K content. Nevertheless, with scaling capability, current Blu-ray discs can be upscaled for a 4K display.

4k technology is popularly used by most of the companies like Sony and Samsung, in most of their TV products. Buying 4K HDTVs online can be a good option. Best Buy is the best place to buy 4K HDTVs online. Also, using Best Buy coupons and deals would help you save a lot of money on your 4K HDTVs purchases.
