The new wedding dress should be altered for brides | ByCouturier
Purchasing your wedding dresses are an amazing experience, however it is an investment. The process of finding your wedding gown may be challenging, emotional, and even frustrating at times, however, once you find the gown of your dreams, it all becomes worth it! No matter how beautiful your gown may be, alterations are almost always necessary to perfect your wedding day look. It is extremely important to have that perfect fit for your special day, because you want to be comfortable and look back on photos and still absolutely love your gown years from now. Here are 4 reasons we believe that alterations are worth the price:
1) Your dress must be fitted to your body. Although you order your gown to your size, the gown is made to measurements, not to your specific body. This is especially true when it comes to gowns that have any kind of strap, illusion neckline, or sleeves that make it difficult to order a perfect fit. Any concern you have about your look will show on your face the day of the wedding, it is important to be completely secure in your gown choice and to absolutely love every aspect of your mermaid wedding dresses!
2) Your dress may have to be taken apart. There are many detailed bodices and hems in our bridal selection. With that, comes very detailed alterations. Some hems require the seamstresses to take apart the bottom completely and put it back together through reconstruction to ensure perfection! Although this may sound scary, you have to keep an open mind. Think of it as having your gown custom made to you!
3) If you wait, you may be charged more. It is important to space out your alteration appointments so that you get the most accurate fit. You want to make time in your schedule specifically for alterations. Our gowns take about three to six months to come in, and we recommend three months extra for alterations. That way, you are able to space out appointments to get the most precise fit. Waiting until the last minute may end up costing you more, it is OK to ask for perfection for your wedding day!
4) You’ll want our specialty seamstress. Our seamstress pays special attention to all of your needs. If you want a different bustle, she can show you several options. If you have a gown without buttons and would like to add them, she can do that for you. She created her own gown from scratch to wear for her wedding day, so she understands the need for perfection on one of the most important days of your life.
