Jenny Packham’s SS19 Campaign

Jenny Packham’s SS19 Campaign

Jenny Packham is one of the most recent designers to leave New York Fashion Week, and in her case it was to take her brand back to London where it all started 30 years ago. Packham showcased her Spring/Summer collection celebrating her 30th anniversary and the life of the 1930s Hollywood sweetheart, Jean Harlow. Harlow was the epitome of old Hollywood glamour as the original “It Girl.”

The highlight look this season was a light grey tulle dress with layers and layers of ruffles with black edges to mimic a doodle or sketched piece of art. It was light and fresh in the line up of Packham’s sequined looks fit for her high-brow clientele.

Another key look was inspired by the dress Jean Harlow’s mother put Jean in, for a portrait commissioned after she passed, which was ironically pink, Jean’s least favorite color. Jenny Packham’s light pink interpretation had intense levels of Swarovski crystal embellished on the bodice with such intricacy that it looked different from every angle.

All of the designs had a fresh and modern demure to them while still having an old Hollywood charm. Packham incorporated her classic strengths with crystals, ruffled necklines and ruffles tailored for award season.

We can’t wait to see who she dresses for the upcoming award season, as these will sure to be red carpet favorites.
