Acute sinusitis lasts anywhere between 2 and 4 weeks.
  • Sub-acute Sinusitis: When the acute sinusitis lasts more than 4 weeks, it is diagnosed as subacute sinusitis.
  • Chronic Sinusitis: If your sinusitis has lasted longer than 12 weeks then it is referred to as chronic sinusitis.
  • Recurrent Sinusitis: When the individual frequently suffers from sinusitis several times a year, they are diagnosed with ‘recurrent sinusitis’.
